Nocturnal Wildlife Walks, BBQs and Family Fun in Strathewen

What’s better than a night exploring local wildlife? Doing it with our community, a BBQ and plenty of family fun!

On Thursday 1 May, we were invited back to join Strathewen Primary School for another nocturnal wildlife walk, and of course, we were more than happy to fire up the BBQ again. We reckon we're getting pretty good at this BBQ business!

Discovering the Wildlife After Dark

Following the success of the previous event, families gathered at Strathewen Primary School from 5pm to explore the fascinating world of nocturnal wildlife in our local area.

With staff from Zoos Victoria and Strathewen Landcare sharing their knowledge and expertise, participants had the chance to learn more about the creatures that come out after dark and discover the wildlife living right on our doorstep.

Armed with torches, warm clothing and plenty of curiosity, everyone headed out for an evening of discovery. Red cellophane for torches helped participants explore in a wildlife-friendly way, while glow sticks and sweet treats added a little extra fun for the kids.

A BBQ, Good Company and Community Spirit

While everyone was busy discovering what goes bump in the night, we were busy doing what we do best: keeping everyone fed!

Our club members cooked up another BBQ, helping bring everyone together for a relaxed evening of learning, laughter and connection.

We love being part of events like these. They give families the chance to get outdoors, learn something new and connect with others in our local community, all while discovering more about the incredible environment around us.

Thank You for Having Us!

A big thank you to Strathewen Primary School and Strathewen Landcare for inviting us along again. We're always happy to lend a hand, fire up the BBQ and be part of such a wonderful family event.

It's these little moments of connection that make our community such a special place to live. We’re already looking forward to the next adventure!
