Volunteer with us.

Rotary should fit into your life — not take over it.

Forget the idea that joining Rotary means signing up for another calendar full of meetings, committees and obligations.

That's not how we do things here.

Life comes first. Family, friends, work, business, holidays and everything else that makes up your life matter. We understand that sometimes you have plenty of time to give — and sometimes you don't.

That's why we're changing the way we think about volunteering with Rotary.

It's not about fitting Rotary into your schedule. It's about finding where Rotary fits into yours.

Flexibility.png

Give what you can.
Get involved how you want.

You don't need to be at everything. You don't need to join every project. And you definitely don't need to know everything about Rotary before you get started.

Maybe you can give us a few hours at the Kinglake Market once a month.

Maybe you're great with technology, social media, photography or videography.

Maybe you love organising things, writing emails or keeping spreadsheets under control.

Maybe you prefer getting your hands dirty at a working bee.

Maybe you have a business network that could open a door for a community project.

Or maybe you simply want to meet some good people and do something useful with your spare time.

There's a place for all of it.

We're doers,

not just talkers.

Less sitting around. More getting things done.

We're an active club.

We don't particularly enjoy spending hours sitting around talking about what we might do someday. We like coming up with an idea, working out how to make it happen and then getting out there and doing it.

That might mean running the Kinglake Market, installing a community seat, supporting young drivers, helping at an event, fundraising for a cause or getting stuck into a community project.

Have an idea? Let's see what we can do with it.

There's no "perfect" rotary member
bring what you've got.

Our members come from different generations, backgrounds, careers and walks of life — and that's exactly how we like it.

You don't need to be retired.

You don't need to have heaps of spare time.

You don't need to be an extrovert.

You don't need to attend every meeting.

You don't even need to be in the room every time.

You might join one of our zoom meetings and just pop your headphones in to listen at home while you're doing the bedtime routine with the kids.

Your experience, skills, ideas and perspective are valuable — even if you can only contribute occasionally.

And sometimes, simply showing up, having a conversation or bringing a fresh perspective is exactly what a project needs.

Life gets busy...
We get it!

Kids get sick. Work gets crazy. Businesses need attention. Holidays happen. Life throws curveballs — and sometimes your own sanity needs to come first.

Family. Friends. Work. Life. Health. They matter.

We don't expect you to put any of them aside to keep our club running.

You might miss a meeting because of a family commitment. Step away from a project because work has gone bananas. Take a few months off when life gets hectic or you just need to prioritise care for yourself? That's okay.

There's no guilt, no awkward explanations and no pressure to choose Rotary over the people and things that matter most to you.

When life gets busy, step back. When you've got more time, jump back in.

That's what being part of a supportive club looks like.

We work around each other's lives, pick up the slack when someone needs a hand, and welcome you back when you're ready.

Rotary fits into your life. Your life doesn't have to fit around Rotary.

Find your thing,
you don't have to be involved in everything.

Find the things you're interested in and get involved there.

Or Just Come Along

You don't have to arrive with a skill set or a five-year plan.

Come meet us. Have a drink. Have a chat. See what we're about.

What you get back

It's not just about what you give.

Volunteering with Rotary can mean learning new skills, building confidence, meeting people you wouldn't normally cross paths with, expanding your network and becoming part of something bigger than yourself.

And sometimes it's much simpler than that.

You meet some good people, have a laugh, get something done and go home knowing you made someone's day a little better.

That's a pretty good way to spend your spare time.

So, what could you bring?

Maybe it's 20 years of business experience.

Maybe it's your ability to organise absolute chaos.

Maybe you're the person everyone asks when the computer stops working.

Maybe you've got an idea nobody has thought of yet.

Maybe you've got two hours a month.

Maybe you've got two days a week.

Whatever you've got, there's a good chance it could be useful here.

And if you're not sure where you'd fit, we'll figure it out together.

Your Life. Your Time. Your Rotary.

Rotary doesn't have to be another thing on your already-too-long to-do list. Give what you can, get involved in what interests you, and know that when life gets busy, we've got your back.

The best time to get
involved is now.

No pressure. No commitments. Just come along and see what we're about.

Come to a meeting. Join us at the market. Drop in for Guest Speaker night. Pick up the tongs on the barbecue. Grab a shovel or broom at the next project day. Meet a few members. Ask questions. See if it's your vibe.
