Youth Scholarships

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, the second-hand book stall at the Kinglake Market continues to be a much-loved success. With donated books finding new homes for just a few dollars each, every purchase helps support local young people as they take the next step in their education.

Our scholarships start with something very simple — a book.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, the second-hand book stall at the Kinglake Market continues to be a much-loved success. With donated books finding new homes for just a few dollars each, every purchase helps support local young people as they take the next step in their education.

Funds raised through the book stall contribute to our annual Year 6 Scholarship Program, which provides scholarships to nominated students from local primary schools as they prepare to transition into secondary school.

Each scholarship is designed to recognise qualities such as leadership, perseverance, kindness, community spirit and a positive attitude towards learning.

To help students feel prepared and supported as they begin this exciting new chapter, along with the monetary gift, scholarship recipients also receive a transition pack containing a journal, pen, highlighter and a collection of reflection prompts and fun facts.

The idea is simple: encourage young people to capture their thoughts, goals, achievements and experiences as they navigate one of the biggest milestones of their school years.

It's a small gesture, but one that promotes confidence, wellbeing, self-reflection and personal growth during a significant life transition.

From donated books and community support to scholarships and opportunities for local students, it's a wonderful example of how small contributions can create lasting impact.

One book. One student. One future at a time.
