Rotary Book Stall

A second-hand book can open a brand-new door.

Our book stall at the Kinglake Market raises funds to support our local Year 6–7 Transition Scholarship Program.

With donated books finding new homes for just a few dollars, every page turned helps us give local students a little extra support as they head into high school.

rom Second-Hand Books to New Beginnings

One of our most popular Kinglake Market stalls starts with something incredibly simple:

A donated book.

Our Rotary Book Stall gives pre-loved books a second life while raising funds for our Year 6–7 Transition Scholarship Program.

With books generously donated by members of our community and sold for just a few dollars, every purchase helps support a local student preparing to take the next big step into high school.

A Book Can Be More Than a Book

Maybe you're looking for your next holiday read.

A novel you haven't read since you were a kid.

Something for the children.

A cookbook.

A classic.

Or perhaps you just can't resist a good bargain.

Whatever brings you to the stall, your purchase is doing something else at the same time.

It's helping a local young person start high school with a little extra support.

How the Book Stall Works
📚 The community donates

People generously drop off books they no longer need, giving them another chance to be enjoyed.

💰 We sell them

Books are sold at the Kinglake Market for just a few dollars.

🎓 The money goes towards scholarships

Funds raised contribute to our Year 6–7 Transition Scholarship Program.

🌱 Local students benefit

The scholarships help nominated local students as they transition from primary school into secondary school.

Supporting the Next Chapter

Starting high school is a big deal.

New school. New teachers. New friends. New routines.

Our Year 6–7 Transition Scholarships provide financial support to nominated students, along with a small transition pack designed to encourage confidence, journaling, self-reflection and personal growth.

It's a wonderful example of how something as simple as a second-hand book can help create a positive ripple through our community.

Want to Donate Books?

Our Book Stall relies on the generosity of our community.

If you've got quality second-hand books looking for a new home, we'd love to hear from you about donating them to our stall.

And if you're visiting the Kinglake Market, make sure you wander through and see what treasures you can find.

Read something new. Support something local.
