KRR 4 x 4 Driving Trip - Fundraiser

Kinglake Ranges Rotary Club has been steadfast in our commitment to Service Above Self. Among our numerous initiatives aimed at enhancing the well-being and safety of our community, one stands out for its direct impact on the lives of our young drivers: the sponsorship of the annual Defensive Driving Course, hosted in collaboration with Murcotts at the iconic Sandown Racecourse.

So each year we set off on our 4 x 4 adventure to raise money to assist with the sponsorship of sending 20 lucky drivers to complete the course.

Each year, we send local young drivers to participate in this invaluable program, designed not just to educate but to empower. It's a day that combines theoretical knowledge with practical, hands-on experience, under the guidance of Murcotts' professional driving instructors. Participants engage in a variety of driving exercises that simulate real-life road conditions, teaching them how to react safely to unforeseen situations.

Why It Matters

The statistics around young drivers and road accidents are alarming. Young individuals are disproportionately represented in road traffic incidents, often due to inexperience and a lack of understanding of the risks associated with driving. By addressing this gap through education and practical experience, we are directly contributing to a safer road environment for everyone.

Get Involved

To our community members, we encourage your continued support, whether by spreading the word, volunteering, or participating. Your involvement is crucial to the ongoing success of this and other Rotary initiatives aimed at building a safer, stronger community.
